Coachella Valley Resource Conservation District is governed by a volunteer Board consisting of five directors. Division 9 of the California Public Resources Code provides for the Board of Directors to be elected to their positions, but because of the County of Riverside costs associated with biennial elections, the District Board adopted a resolution allowing appointment by the County of Riverside Board of Supervisors. Terms coincide with election years, and filing deadlines for appointment are esblished by the County of Riverside Board of Supervisors.

In advance of the expiration dates, the County of Riverside will post vacancy notices, soliciting application from residents.
